Westbrook Cottage

For this project, the goal was to open up the space, add a costal casual feel, and reuse the existing kitchen cabinetry and appliances. To make the house flow and feel inviting, we opened the wall between the family room and kitchen. We added a large island, painted some of the cabinetry a soft neutral, and fitted a custom mudroom painted in a soft blue. A 300 year old mantle finished off the living space adding a much needed sense of architectural interest to this mid 1900's home. For the bathrooms, we chose a crushed marble terrazzo floor, blue tones, and calming neutrals to create a beachy vibe. To bring cottage charm to the exterior, we added shingle siding, new shutters, and stonework to the front steps.
